Hello from Kiwanis Club of Milwaukee !
Founded in 1916 and designated a “flagship club” by Kiwanis International, our mission is to “improve the world one child, and one community at a time."
We meet every Wednesday at noon throughout the year (some exceptions for holidays) at the War Memorial Center in downtown Milwaukee. Our weekly program includes a speaker of civic interest. However, our primary focus is service to children. Several committees meet once a month to organize activities such as volunteers serving food at Ronald McDonald House, mentoring students at different Milwaukee Public Schools, supporting Curative Care through our Aktion Club, and other children services. We also sponsor a program for Armed Forces Week which honors our military service members, both current and veteran. Awards programs include the Kiwanis Milwaukee Award and the Hall of Fame Award which annually recognize and give thanks to individuals and organizations which “make our community a better place.” Featured pastoral luncheon programs at Easter and Thanksgiving have been very inspiring.
Kiwanis Club of Milwaukee is an active participant and co-founder of the River Revitalization Foundation in Milwaukee which focuses on environmental issues for all the rivers in southeastern Wisconsin. Another environmental activity is our collaboration with Keep Greater Milwaukee Beautiful (KGMB).
We invite you to join us to help advance our mission of making Milwaukee a better place. You will also have some fun! I promise your volunteer participation will be rewarding and give you personal satisfaction. Call the Kiwanis office if you are interested in hearing a speaker, or becoming a member!
