MacArthur’s Spies

Peter Eisner, veteran foreign correspondent and political editor with the Washington Post, Newsday and the Associated Press, will speak about his 2017 book:  “MacArthur’s Spies.”

This is the story of three Americans (two men and one woman) who refused to surrender after the Japanese conquest of the Philippines in 1942.  For two years, as undercover guerillas, they sabotaged the Japanese and radioed intelligence to General Douglas MacArthur in Australia and New Guinea, preparing the way for his triumphant return to liberate the Philippines.  It is a story of intrigue, drama, skullduggery, sacrifice, romance and incredible danger.
